First Day

Wow, I really can't believe that I'm doing a Blog. I just got done watching Julie&Julia, so you know where I got the idea. I never really thought about writing down my personal thoughts before, so when I saw the movie, I thought that this would be awesome.
My blog is going to be about me becoming a surrogate mother. I already have four children and three grandchildren, so when the topic came up, I was more then willing to help.
Lets start from the beginning, I went on my first cruise in November of last year. We don't have to go into all the details about that, but this is where I met the couple, lets call them Greg & Wilma. We all were with the same group traveling together, so it wasn't like they were total strangers. Well while everyone was waiting to board the ship, all of us ladies were just sitting around talking, about our lives, family, children, and so on. I think that we got on the subject of having babies, because one of the women that was in our group was pregnant. I happen to ask Wilma if her and Greg had any children and she said no. I didn't go into detail about why not, but she did mention that she had spina bifida as a baby, and that she has a steel rod in her back. We got on the subject of surrogate mothers, I think that I ask her had she thought about using one. She said that in the state that they lived in, it was against the law, she knew, because they were going to have one of their friends do it for them. I just kinda casual mention to her that I would be a surrogate mom for them. We kinda just smile at each other, and didn't really say much about it, but it just stuck with me the whole trip.
Well long story short, me and Wilma became friends, and I would sometimes make a comment about having a baby for her, but she would just laugh, and blow it off.
The night before we were to get back home, myself and a friend that I had met on the boat, went to see a comedy show. Greg and Wilma were there too, we waved at each other and went to our seats. I hadn't had a chance to give Wilma my number, so that we could stay in touch, so I got some paper for our waiter, wrote my number down and took it to her.
Well a few months had gone by, and I hadn't heard anything from her, so when my phone rang one day, and it was her I was so excited. She ask did I know where to even began with this project, and of course, I had already Googled, Surrogate mothers. I ask her if she, and Greg had been talking about my proposal, and she said yes. I called my doctors to find out where to go for infertility treatment, and she gave me the number of a doctor to call.
We have our first appointment on the 21st to see if all of this is even possible. I'm really excited to even think that I may help them become a family.

Womb to Grow
